Pre-School Curriculum
Preschool classrooms at the Early Childhood Learning Center utilize The Creative Curriculum, a research-based approach that incorporates language, literacy, and mathematics throughout the day.
The Creative Curriculum for Preschool empowers children to be confident, creative, and caring learners through play and hands-on investigations. The curriculum is aligned to the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
Through play, children develop social skills, problem solving abilities and creativity while teachers guide and facilitate their exploration. This approach recognizes the importance of active engagement and tailors learning experiences to individual needs and interests, promoting a holistic development in a fun and interactive way.
The Creative Curriculum includes developmentally appropriate goals and objectives for children within ten main areas of development:
- Social-emotional
- Physical (both fine and gross motor)
- Cognitive
- Language
- Mathematics
- Literacy
- Science
- Social studies
- The Arts
- English Language Acquisition
